Car Insurance for Older Drivers
Feb 24, 2022 | COA, older drivers, Transportation
Information from the Insurance Bureau of Canada
There is no increased premium for anyone who is of an older age. Insurance companies usually only pull reports on an insured every 5 years but may pull the reports for a person of a certain age every year instead, as older adults might be more prone to accidents or unintended violations.
Every insured, regardless of age, will have premium increases if there are at-fault accidents or tickets or a combination of both.
The only time health issues affect a person of a certain age is when they can longer drive due to loss of focus and their license is revoked or suspended depending on the health issue. If you have a clear driving record regardless of age, a person will not pay more.
