Committees
At the time of it's founding in 1975, the first priority for the COA was to establish a clear understanding of the current situation for seniors living in the region. Standing Committees were struck in the areas of education, health, housing, recreation, social services, transportation, economics, and Francophone concerns. Concerns in these areas have remained at the core of the work that we do.
Many people consider the resulting establishment of the COA's invaluable network of personal relationships to be one of our most important contributions towards helping the elderly in our community. Relationships have been formed between seniors, volunteers of all ages, professionals, anglophones, francophones, funding bodies and other concerned community members, all as active participants in the work of our issues committees.
Current committees include...
- Age-Friendly Ottawa
- Education and Events
- Francophone Issues
- Health
- Housing
- Income Security
- Ottawa Seniors Transportation
- Social Inclusion
