May 9, 2018 | 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Nepean Sportsplex Halls A&B
CARP Ottawa and ADVOCIS are sponsoring a Provincial Candidates Meeting to voice the concerns seniors have in the upcoming provincial election. Five provincial parties – Liberals, PC’s, NDP, Green Party and the Trillium Party – will have representatives on hand for this discussion.
The format will include platform presentations from each party, and a series of moderated questions followed by questions from the audience.
In 2018, CARP presented five priorities based on input from CARP members and volunteers.
CARP will continue to advocate for these priorities. Each candidate will be asked about these issues as it relates to seniors. The top five priorities identified by CARP are:
- Pension Protection
- RRIF Reform
- Resident Safety in Long-Term Care
- Access to Housing
Stand Up Straight and Be ActiveThe Provincial Candidates Meeting is free and open to all. CARP is committed to providing practical solutions and calls for action to ensure that the needs of the country’s most vulnerable Canadians are not forgotten.
The Media is welcome to attend and will have access to candidates following the session.
