Can We Count on Your Support?

At the end of 2020, we reflected on it as the ‘year of everything is different.’ 2021 is shaping up to be equally challenging. Yet, we are proud of what the Council on Aging of Ottawa (COA) has been able to achieve during this continuing pandemic.

As I write this note to you, over 60 participants are completing the second online Smart Aging program and exploring key topics to support them to make smart decisions at key transition points in their later life. To date, over 250 older adults have completed the program supported by over 30 volunteers.

To support our continued work, we are inviting you to give generously to the COA! Your support reflects our shared values that aging in the community is important, whether that be living independently in your own home or in long-term care. Thanks to you, as a member and supporter, the COA continues to adapt and evolve to meet the changing needs of older adults in Ottawa. We accomplished so much with your support. To inspire your further generosity, we thought we’d look back at what we achieved in 2021:

Continued to advocate for long-overdue improvements to living and working conditions in long-term care in Ottawa through our We Need Change Now! campaign

Updated our popular Housing Options in Ottawa: A Guide for Older Adults

Produced and circulated the 2021 Federal Election Guide: Priorities for Older Adults as well as co-hosted a series of Virtual Information Session with Federal Riding Candidates leading up to the election in September with partners, National Association of Federal Retirees and CARP - Ottawa Chapter

Can we count on your generous support to continue to advance the well-being of older adults in Ottawa?
