HorsePower for Seniors

HorsePower for Seniors is a free, innovative program designed for people 55+ years, focusing on reducing social isolation, loneliness, and improving quality of life. Our Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) program fosters meaningful bonds between horses and seniors through:
- Hands-on, in-person experiential learning: Engage in ground-based, unmounted activities that promote connection and trust with horses.
- Low-pressure interactions: Enjoy pleasant, mindful interactions with horses in a safe and stimulating farm environment.
- Socialization and community building: Connect with others in the group through tea/coffee and refreshments.
- Providing opportunities for participants to connect with others in the group while enjoying tea, coffee, and refreshments.
Program Overview: Participants engage in activities such as grooming, connecting with the horses, observing and interpreting horse behaviour, and participating in interactive, horse-themed exercises. These sessions are designed to foster connection, confidence, communication, and enjoyment in a supportive and inclusive environment. Please note our ground-based programming does not include riding or mounting the horse at any point during the session(s).

How do I participate?
If you are interested in our seniors program please let us know your availability for July, August and September, or have any additional questions, please email us at operations@
We recommend keeping groups to a maximum of ten individuals to allow for maximum interactions with the horses, however, we can also accommodate a bit of a larger group.
We look forward to connecting with you!
