When you come across a stopped school bus with the stop arm activated and lights flashing (see photo), it is important to understand the rules. If there is no median on the roadway, all vehicles in all lanes must stop. If there is a median on the roadway, the vehicles in the lanes going in the same direction as the bus must stop, but the vehicles on the other side of the median do not stop.
