Mary Appleton has had a variety of careers starting in national amateur sport organizations, to marketing for an Ottawa home health agency, to managing a coalition of national organizations promoting vaccination, and lastly working with vaccine researchers in Halifax, NS. Mary retired back to Ottawa because of family and long-standing connections, but she misses the mild Halifax winters. She joined the Age-Friendly Housing Committee five years ago, looking for older adult housing options, and discovered everyone else on the Committee was also looking for options as we age. Mary enjoys the variety of people on the Housing Committee who bring a wide assortment of experiences and expertise to discussions.
